Molded Plastic Zippers
Our plastic Molded Zippers have teeth made from Acetal (Polyoxymethylene, or POM) that are extruded, molded and injected individually onto the zipper tapes. This construction makes the Molded zipper more durable than others. Because the teeth are molded symmetrically on both sides of the zipper tape, the slider can be affixed to either end of the finished zipper.
Molded zippers made from Acetal are smooth pulling and quiet due to their inherent self-lubricating materials. This ensures a long friction-free cycle life. Acetal is also resistant to many chemicals and is not prone to cracking or softening when exposed to them.
The individually molded teeth are extruded from a variety of colored resins giving you the ability to color match the zipper to your final product. Moreover, this style of zipper offers a thicker, chunky appearance giving products that often-desired heavy-duty aesthetic.
Common uses: Camping tents, sleeping bags, awnings, bimini tops, sail boats and marine windows and upholstery, hunting blinds, nets / netting, ice shanties, Parkas, everyday jackets, choir robes, coats, hoodies, sweaters, sportswear, and fleece jackets.
